No artist hovers the border of creation between Rap and R&B quite like Mike Alpha Lima himself. The singer and wordsmith, born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, is a once in a lifetime artist, having built a solid following after the release of his 2018 debut EP, BACK 2 BLACK. His soulful voice croons its way through songs like “Options” and “Fallin’”, and contains the ability to evoke emotion to every listener through each note. Although forever indebted to artists such as Usher and J. Cole, Mal has chiseled his own sound vacant of anyone else in Rap or R&B. His voice projects a smooth and classic edge, but he consistently finds a way to pave his own lane and morph into any genre.

 

With the release of his most current project, MAN ON A MISSION, Mal displays his range with songs such as, “Nightshift”, “War” and “They Don't Know My Name”. As reclusive as Mal may be with his personal life, he continues to express his vulnerability through his music.
